A bugged controller uses power from the system itself, whereas a wireless one requires batteries a lot. The wired ones somebody a more limited catalogue than the wireless ones. I’d go next to a wired cardinal, but wireless ones are good when you’re having a party, OR are within a small room with no space around the t.v.
