My Brother-in-Law passed away suddenly and my sister asked if I would make a box for the rest. I position this mutually in 2 days. I cut a groove around the bottom fringe of the eyelid to fit complete the container article, this is visible in the later photo. The eyelid handle and feet (afterthought) are made from Spalted Oak. After discussing with my sister, I added an interior partition so she could keep remains in the bottom and photos etc. above. This was done after the sides were glued up, I used a half inch trim router bit next to a 3/8 inch pose to cut the internal ledge. The partition is a bit of salvaged wood veneer plyboard I had on hand and in use because it was gaunt . You can see the partition and the thin ledge in the second photo. The bottom of the box is Cherry from the family farm.

Finish is four coats of Watco raw and some paste lipid.
